Our primary goal is the mental health and well-being of our community here at Forest Lake and the surrounding suburbs. Our goal is to enable you to be the best version of yourself. We like to work from a person-centered perspective and are very much client-led. Life tends to throw many obstacles our way and sometimes it means that you need someone to help guide you through this path. Psychologists are well-equipped to help you on this journey. Psychologist have at least 6-years of university study and placements, followed by ongoing professional development and supervision. All this means you will receive the very best standard in care and support.

Lisa is the director and senior Psychologist at Lakeside Allied Health. With over 15 years experience working in Government, Non-Government Organisations and the Private sector, Lisa is fully equipped to deal with a wide range of mental health issues.

Lisa’s specific areas of interest include anxiety, depression, stress, grief & loss, trauma and life changes. Lisa has a very calming manner and takes the time to listen to her clients and really get an understanding of presenting issues. She will work with you to collaboratively decide on goals and give you strategies to take away and work with.

Lisa works from a collaborate standpoint and believes we all have the inner strength to overcome any challenges. Lisa has a very relaxed and friendly manner which puts clients at ease. Lisa has recently completed EMDR training is now pleased to add this therapy to her repertoire.

Lisa has sessions available for supervision from February 2025.

Lisa has reduced capacity for new referrals. Please speak with admin if you wish to book with Lisa.

Channelle is a warm and compassionate therapist. Her therapeutical style is intuitive and empathetic. Channelle strives to create a therapeutic space, where her clients can feel safe, supported and heard. She provides an opportunity for her clients to share their values, goals and beliefs. Channelle’s strength based and collaborative approach enables her to adapt to the needs of each client. She provides an evidence-based, multi-modal approach to support clients to reach their potential.

Channelle attended the University of Queensland and completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours). Whilst completing her degree, Channelle volunteered at several communities. Channelle has experience working with children, adolescents and adults experiencing with mental, physical and a range of socio-psychological challenges.

Outside of work, Channelle enjoys spending time with her family, and dogs. In her spare time, Channelle enjoys exploring and eating lots of food!

DAWNE RAJADURAI

Dawne has over 11 years of therapeutic experience across a range of healthcare settings. She has worked with people aged 15-65 facing a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, stress, grief, and trauma.

Further to this, she has specialized experience conducting vocational assessments, corporate wellbeing  seminars and delivering Employee Assistance Programs to private and government organizations. Dawne has a special interest in the impact of trauma or life stressors on an individual and how this contributes to problematic coping mechanisms.

Dawne is available for appointments Saturday mornings. We are very excited to announce that Dawne will open her books for appointments on Mondays from February 2025.

Libby is a registered dietitian and is a new face to Lakeside Allied Health. She has clinical experience working with a range of conditions including; diabetes, chronic kidney disease, gastrointestinal disorders alongside weight management. Moreover, Libby is passionate to facilitate a healthy relationship with food and utilise diet as a form of medicine.

Using client centred care, Libby aims to empower, change and support her clients through their health journey. Understanding that diet can be influenced by a range of lifestyle factors, she hopes to encourage her clients to feel safe and understood. Libby aims to collaborate with clients to develop realistic and effective strategies to suit their goals.

Libby’s areas of interest include childhood development and paediatric nutrition. Additionally, she hopes to dismantle the negative connotations around food and empower her clients to see food as nourishment.

Libby is available for consultations Tuesdays.

KELDA JOHN

Kelda has extensive experience working with young people, adults, couples, and families across a spectrum of concerns, mental health, trauma and life experiences. Understanding the importance of each person being deeply listened to and felt, she enjoys supporting insight to self, others, and enabling improvement of mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Using a holistic person-centered, integrative, trauma-sensitive model of counselling, Kelda offers relation safety through curiousity, compassion, enabling choice, increasing capacity for connections with a deep understanding of modern-day attachment, neurobiology using somatic techniques creating neuropathways of healing.

Kelda has worked in consultation with education, out of home care, government and non-government spaces with trauma competencies to navigate complexities of systems, scaffolding approach to re-orientate safety and changes in practice. She is process driven and believes in creating simplicity for complexity.

Some of the values that guide her practice are relational safety, connectedness, creativity, community, inclusiveness, compassion, presence, shared learning and self-accountability.

Modalities trained in to support this include Somatic Experiencing, Systemic Thinking in Family Therapy, The Richards Trauma Process, Art, Play and Expressive Therapies, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Somatic Internal Family Systems, Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Ecology.

Art Therapist

Trish is one of our Art Therapists. She is an empathetic and dedicated professional who uses gentleness, presence, and trauma-informed practices to establish safe and nurturing environments. Her focus on co-regulation and developing secure attachment relationships empowers individuals to express their emotions, communicate effectively, and learn to regulate their nervous systems. Trish’s therapeutic practice extends beyond individual concerns, recognising the significant impact of familial, societal, cultural, and systemic structures on one’s well-being. She strives to create new patterns of safety, learning, and development, shifting the focus from “healing” or “fixing” to holistic growth and transformation, inspiring hope and a sense of possibility.

Trish has availability on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
